Senate File 451 transferred Iowa 115 in its entirety, in Montgomery County, to county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑115‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑69, between Montgomery County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, trans­ferred the section of road from a junction with US 34 approximately 2270 feet south of the NW Corner Section 1‑T71N‑R37W south and east to the entrance of Viking Lake State Park near the N ¼ Corner of the NE ¼ of Section 12‑T71N‑R37W to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1980. The section is now designated Iowa 115.

 

Iowa 115 begins at a junction with US 34 approximately 1 ¾ miles east of the City of Stanton and proceeds southerly and easterly to the entrance of Viking Lake State Park approximately two and one half miles east of the City of Stanton.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of Iowa 115 in Montgomery County in the primary road system.

 

Locate Iowa 115 in Montgomery County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point approximately 2270 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 1‑T71N‑R37W (junction US 34); thence south following substantially the section line of Section 1‑T71N‑R37W to a point near the NW Corner Section 12‑T71N‑R37W; thence east following substantially the section line of Section 12‑T71N‑R37W to the entrance of Viking Lake State Park at a point near the N ¼ Corner of the NE ¼ of Section 12‑T71N‑R37W.
