TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 213, Monroe County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 213 begins on the Monroe Wapello county line approximately two miles north of the City of Blakesburg, and travels northerly approximately one‑third mile to US 34.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑213‑0 (2), between Monroe County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ­-213‑0 (4), between Wapello County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, trans­ferred Iowa 213 from approximately 1850 feet south of the SE Corner Section 24-T72N‑R16W north along the Monroe‑Wapello County line to US 34 near the NE Corner Section 25‑T72N‑R16W to local jurisdiction on December 22, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 213 in Monroe County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 213 in Monroe County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Monroe‑Wapello County line at a point approximately 1850 feet south of the SE Corner of Section 24‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 19‑T72N‑R15W; Wapello County); thence northerly along the east side of Section 25‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 30‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County) (junction US 34).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 213 in Monroe County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

Iowa 213 begins on the Monroe‑Wapello County line approximately 3 miles north of Blakesburg, and travels northerly approximately 1850 feet to a junction with US 34.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 213 in Monroe County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Monroe-Wapello County line at a point approximately 1850 feet south of the SE Corner of Section 24‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 19‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County); thence northerly along the east side of Section 25‑T72N‑R16W to a point at or near the NE Corner of Section 25‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 30-T72N-R15W, Wapello County) (junction US 34).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 213 in Monroe County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Beginning on the Monroe‑Wapello County line at a point near the SE Corner of Section 25‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 30‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County); thence north along the Monroe‑Wapello County line to a point approximately 60 feet north of the SE Corner Section 24‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County (SW Corner Section 19‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County).

 

NOTE: To become effective one year after notice is given to the county that old location has reverted to the secondary road system.
