DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 137 in Monroe County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 137 begins in the City of Albia, and travels north and north­easterly to the Monroe‑Wapello County line near the SW Corner of the City of Eddyville.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 137 and its extension in Monroe County as follows:

 

Albia:

 

Beginning at Main Street (junction Iowa 5); thence northeasterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Albia, connecting with an unnamed street; thence north following substantially the center section line through Sections 15, 10 and 3‑T72N‑R17W and 34‑T73N‑R17W to a point approximately 600 feet south of the N ¼ Corner Section 34‑T73N‑R17W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 34, 27, 26, 23 and 24‑T73N‑R17W and Sections 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 10, 11 and 12‑T73N-R16W to the Monroe‑Wapello County line at a point approximately 66 feet south of the NE Corner Section 12‑T73N‑R16W, Monroe County (NW Corner Section 7‑T73N‑R15W, Wapello County).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 137 in Monroe County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
