DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ-978-1(8), between the Mills County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 978 from Interstate 29 at a point approximately 739 feet west of the SE Corner Section 29‑T72N‑R43W; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 32 and 33‑T72N‑R43W to a point near the N ¼ Corner NE ¼ Section 33‑T72N‑R43W; thence northeasterly through Sections 28, 27, 22 and 23-T72N-R43W to a point approximately 1260 feet north and 200 feet east of the SW Corner Section 23‑T72N‑R43W (junction Iowa 385) to county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Unsigned Iowa 978 in Mills County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 978 in Mills County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Unsigned Iowa 978 in Mills County as follows:

Beginning at Interstate 29 approximately 739 feet west of the SE Corner Section 29‑T72N‑R43W; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 32 and 33‑T72N‑R43W to a point near the N ¼ Corner NE ¼ Section 33‑T72N‑R43W; thence northeasterly through Sections 28, 27, 22 and 23-T72N-R43W to a point approximately 1260 feet north and 200 feet east of the SW Corner Section 23‑T72N‑R43W (junction Iowa 385).
