DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-038, between the City of Pacific Junction and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 385 from Lincoln Avenue at Front Street; then easterly on Lincoln Avenue to the east corporation line to city jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ-385-1(4), between the Mills County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 385 from the east corporation line of Pacific Junction connecting with Lincoln Avenue; then in an easterly direction through the south part of Sections 21 and 22‑T72N‑R43W; then in a northeasterly direction through Section 22‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 650 feet west of the east line said Section 22; then in a northeasterly direction through Sections 23 and 14‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 1,100 feet north and 1,650 feet west of the SE Corner Section 14‑T72N‑R43W (junction US 34 and 275) to county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

New Description ‑ Iowa 385 and its extension in Mills County described as follows:

 

Pacific Junction:

 

Beginning on Lincoln Avenue at the west line of Front Street; then easterly on Lincoln Avenue to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of Pacific Junction connecting with Lincoln Avenue; then in an easterly direction through the south part of Sections 21 and 22‑T72N‑R43W; then in a northeasterly direction through Section 22‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 650 feet west of the east line said Section 22; then in a northeasterly direction through Sections 23 and 14‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 1,100 feet north and 1,650 feet west of the SE Corner Section 14‑T72N‑R43W (junction US 34 and 275).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 385 in Mills County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 385 in Mills County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.


Locate Iowa 385 and its ex­tension in Mills County as follows:

 

Pacific Junction:

 

Beginning on Lincoln Avenue at Front Street; thence easterly on Lincoln Avenue to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Pacific Junction connecting with Lincoln Avenue; thence in an easterly direction through the south part of Sections 21 and 22‑T72N‑R43W to a point on the northwest side of the Burlington Northern Railroad; thence in a northeasterly direction along the northwest side of and substantially parallel to said railroad through Section 22‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 650 feet west of the east line said Section 22; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 23 and 14‑T72N‑R43W to a point approximately 1100 feet north and 1650 feet west of the SE Corner Section 14‑T72N‑R43W (junction US 34 and 275).

Pacific Junction:

 

Beginning on Lincoln Avenue at Front Street; thence easterly on Lincoln Avenue to the east corporation line.

 

Commencing on the east corporation line of the Town of Pacific Junction, connecting with Lincoln Avenue; thence easterly through Sections 21 and 22‑T72N‑R43W approximately 3,400 feet to the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad right‑of‑way; thence northeasterly on a line parallel thereto to a point approxi­mately 650 feet west of the east line of Section 22‑T72N‑R43W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 23 and 14‑T72N‑R43W to US 34 at a point approximately 495 feet east of the W ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 14‑T72N‑R43W.

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Iowa 385 in Mills County, Iowa.
