TITLE:  Official Description Change:  Iowa 166, Mills County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 166 begins in the City of Hastings, and travels northerly approximately one‑half mile to US 34.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑166‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑65, between the City of Hastings and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 166 from Hale Street northerly to the north corporation line near North Railway Street to city jurisdiction on October 6, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑166‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑65, between the City of Hastings and the Iowa Department of Transportation, and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑166‑0(3), between Mills County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 166 from the north corporation line of the City of Hastings near North Railway Street northerly along the west corpora­tion line of the City of Hastings to US 34 near the NW Corner Section 19-­T72N‑R40W to local jurisdiction on November 10, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 166 in Mills County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 166 and its extension in Mills County as follows:

 

Hastings:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Hale Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning at the north corporation line of the City of Hastings connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 19‑T72N‑R40W to a point near the NW Corner of Section 19‑T72N‑R70W (junction US 34).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 166 in Mills County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 166 in Mills County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
