TITLE: Unsigned Iowa 964, Mahaska County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 964 begins on the Mahaska‑Marion County line approximately eleven miles west of the City of Oskaloosa and proceeds northeasterly to a junction with Iowa 92 approximately eight miles west of the City of Oskaloosa.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑092‑0 (25), between Mahaska County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred unsigned Iowa 964 from the Mahaska-Marion County line approximately 1100 feet south of the NW Corner Section 19‑T75N‑R17W southeasterly and northeasterly to Iowa 92 near the center of the W ½ Section 15-T75N-R17W to county jurisdiction on November 3, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of unsigned Iowa 964 in Mahaska County from the primary road system.

Remove unsigned Iowa 964 in Mahaska County as follows:

Beginning on the Mahaska‑Marion County line at a point approximately 1100 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 19‑T75N‑R17W, Mahaska County (NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R18W, Marion County); thence in a southeasterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 19, 20, 17, 16 and 15-T75N-R17W to a point near the center of the W ½ Section 15‑T75N‑R17W (junction Iowa 92).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to the relocation of Iowa 92 in Mahaska County, unsigned Iowa 964 has been created and its description should be officially included in the primary road system.

Unsigned Iowa 964 begins on the Mahaska‑Marion County line approximately eleven miles west of the City of Oskaloosa and proceeds northeasterly to a junction with Iowa 92 approximately eight miles west of the City of Oskaloosa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of unsigned Iowa 964 in Mahaska County in the primary road system.

Locate unsigned Iowa 964 in Mahaska County as follows:

Beginning on the Mahaska‑Marion County line at a point approximately 1100 ft. south of the NW Corner of Section 19-T75N‑R17W, Mahaska County (NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R18W, Marion County); thence in a southeasterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 19, 20, 17, 16 and 15‑T75N‑R17W to a point near the center of the W ½ Section 15‑T75N‑R17W (junction Iowa 92).
