TITLE:  Iowa 426, Mahaska County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 426 begins approximately one‑half mile west of the City of Rose Hill, and travels easterly to the west corporate limits of the City of Rose Hill.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑426‑0 (3), between Mahaska County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 426 from Iowa 92 approximately 250 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 4‑T75N‑R14W easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Rose Hill to county jurisdiction on July 14, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑426‑0 (3), between Mahaska County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ-­426‑0 (2), between the City of Rose Hill and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 426 from the west corporation line of the City of Rose Hill easterly along the north corporation line of the City of Rose Hill to local jurisdiction on April 6, 1981.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 426 in Mahaska County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 426 in Mahaska County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point approximately 250 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 4‑T75N‑R14W (junction Iowa 92); thence curving southeasterly through said Section 4 to a point approximately 250 feet east of the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ said Section 4; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 9 and 10‑T75N‑R14W to the west corporation line of the City of Rose Hill connecting with an unnamed street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 426 in Mahaska County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa Primary Highway 426 in Mahaska County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 426 and its extension in Mahaska County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point approximately 250 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ Section 4‑T75N‑R14W (junction Iowa 92); thence curving southeasterly through said Section 4 to a point approximately 250 feet east of the S ¼ Corner SE ¼ said Section 4; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 9 and 10‑T75N‑R14W to the west corporation line of the City of Rose Hill connecting with an unnamed street.
