DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0 (1)‑‑2M‑60, between Lyon County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the road section from Iowa 9 near the SW Corner Section 35‑T100N‑R44W north to the Iowa‑Minnesota State line approximately 3450 feet north of the SW Corner Section 11‑T100N‑R44W to state jurisdiction on October 15, 1981. The section is now designated Iowa 91.

Iowa 91 begins at Iowa 9 approximately seven miles east of the City of Rock Rapids and proceeds north approximately four and one‑half miles to the Iowa‑Minnesota State line.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of Iowa 91 in Lyon County in the primary road system.

Locate Iowa 91 in Lyon County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner Section 35‑T100N‑R44W (junction Iowa 9); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 35, 26, 23, 14 and 11‑T100N‑R44W to the Iowa‑Minnesota State line at a point approximately 3450 feet north of the SW Corner Section 11‑T100N‑R44W.
