DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to the opening of the new U.S. 61 alignment in Louisa County which Iowa 92 now runs concurrent with, it is recommended that the route description for Iowa 92 in Louisa County be modified.

New description ‑ Iowa 92 and its extension in Louisa County described as follows:

Beginning on the Louisa‑Washington County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 19‑T73N‑R5W, Louisa County, (NE Corner of Section 24‑T73N‑R6W, Washington County); thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24‑T75N‑R5W to the west corporation line of Columbus Junction connecting with Oak Street.

Columbus Junction:

Beginning on Oak Street at the west corporation line; thence east on Oak Street to the east corporation line.

Due to a review of the Primary Road System records, Iowa 92 in Louisa County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 92 begins on the Louisa‑Washington County line approximately ¾ miles west of Cotter, Iowa and travels easterly and northerly via Columbus Junction, Iowa to the Louisa‑Muscatine County line approximately 2 miles east of Letts, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 92 and its extension in Louisa County as follows:

Beginning on the Louisa‑Washington County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 19‑T73N‑R5W, Louisa County, (NE Corner of Section 24‑T73N‑R6W, Washington County); thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24‑T75N‑R5W to the west corporation line of the City of Columbus Junction connecting with an unnamed street.
