TITLE:  Iowa 84, Linn County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 84 begins at the Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport approximately one mile south of the City of Cedar Rapids, and travels easterly approximately two miles to the east ramps of Interstate 380.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑84‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑57, between Linn County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 84 from the Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport near the N ¼ Corner Section 30‑T82N‑R7W easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Cedar Rapids to county jurisdiction on October 1, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑84‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑57, between the City of Cedar Rapids and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 84 from the west corporation line easterly to the east ramps of Interstate 380 to city jurisdiction on October 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 84 in Linn County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 84 and extension in Linn County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 30‑T82N‑R7W (Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport); thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 30 and 29‑T82N‑R7W to the west corporation line of the City of Cedar Rapids connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Cedar Rapids:

 

Beginning on the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly on unnamed street to the east ramps of Interstate 380.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 84 in Linn County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 84 in Linn County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 84 in Linn County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 30‑T82N‑R7W (Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport); thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 30 and 29‑T82N‑R7W to the west corporation line of the City of Cedar Rapids connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Cedar Rapids:

 

Beginning on the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly on unnamed street to the east ramps of Interstate 380.

Beginning at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 30‑T82‑R7W; thence easterly following substantially the section line to a point 2,043 feet east of the NW Corner Section 28‑T82N‑R7W (Interstate 380).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Iowa 84 in Linn County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE:  Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Iowa 84 in Linn County, Iowa.
