DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Transfer of
jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑091‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑56,
between Lee County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the
section of road from the Iowa‑Missouri State line approximately 1600 feet
south and 100 feet east of the NW Corner Section 4‑T65N‑R6W north
to US 218 approximately 850 feet north of the SW Corner Section 9‑T67N‑R6W
to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.
The section is now designated as
Iowa 394
commences on the Iowa‑Missouri State line approximately ten miles
northwest of the corporation limits of the City of Keokuk and proceeds
northerly to a junction with US 218 approximately ten miles west of the
corporation limits of the City of Fort Madison.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is
recommended the commission approve including the attached description of
Locate
Beginning on
the Iowa‑Missouri State line at a point approximately 1600 feet south and
100 feet east of the NW Corner Section 4‑T65N‑R6W; thence northerly
through said Section 4 to a point near the NW Corner Section 4‑T65N‑R6W;
thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 28,
21, 16, 9 and 4‑T66N‑R6W and Sections 33, 28, 21, 16 and 9‑T67N‑R6W
to a point approximately 850 feet north of the SW Corner Section 9‑T67N‑R6W
(junction US 218).
