DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-053, between Lee County
and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 103
from a point near the NW Corner of Section 4-T68N-R6W (junction US 218); thence
east following substantially the section line of Sections 4 and 3-T68N-R6W;
thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 3, 2, and
1-T68N-R6W and Sections 6 and 5-T68N-R5W to the west corporation line of the
City of West Point connecting with D Avenue to county jurisdiction on September
19, 2003.
Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-055, between the City
of West Point and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that
portion of Iowa 103 from D Avenue at the west corporation line (approximately
2230 feet north and 2730 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 5-T68N-R5W);
thence east on D Avenue to the east corporation line (approximately 1865 feet
north and 1120 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 4-T68N-R5W) to city
jurisdiction on September 19, 2003.

of Fort Madison and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that
portion of Iowa
103 from 18th Street
at the north corporation line; thence southeast and south on 18th Street to H Avenue (junction

Due to a
review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa
103 in Lee County should be deleted from the
Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included
into the Primary Road System.
Iowa 103 begins at US 218 approximately 6
miles west of West Point and travels southeasterly via West Point to a point in
Fort Madison, Iowa.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Locate Iowa 103 and its
extensions in Lee County, Iowa as follows:
Beginning at
a point near the NW Corner Section 4-T68N‑R6W (junction US 218); thence
east following substantially the section line of Sections 4 and 3‑T68N‑R6W
to a point near the N ½ Corner Section 3‑T68N‑R6W; thence in a
southeasterly and easterly direction through Section 3, 2, and 1‑T68N‑R6W
and Section 6 and 5‑T68N‑R5W, to the west corporation line of the
City of West Point connecting with an unnamed street.
