DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Iowa 77 begins at a junction with Iowa 78 in the City of Richland
and proceeds northerly to the City of Keota.
Transfer of
jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑077‑0 (5)‑‑2M‑54,
between the City of Richland and the Iowa Department of Transportation,
transferred that portion of Iowa 77 from a junction with Iowa 78 northerly to
the north corporation line of Richland to city jurisdiction on August 8, 1980.
Transfer of
jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑077‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑54,
between Keokuk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred
that portion of Iowa 77 from the north corporation line of the City of Richland
northerly to a junction with Iowa 92 near the NW Corner Section 1-T75N‑R10W
to county jurisdiction on July 29, 1980.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is
recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 77 in Keokuk
County from the primary road system
and approve including the attached new description of Iowa 77 in the primary road system.

as follows:

review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa
77 in Keokuk County should be deleted from the
Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially
included into the Primary Road System.
Iowa 77 begins at Richland
and travels in a northerly direction terminating in Keota, Iowa.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Locate Iowa 77 and its extensions in Keokuk County, Iowa
as follows:
Richland:
Beginning at
the south corporation line (junction Iowa
78) connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north
corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning on
the north corporation line of the City of Richland connecting with an unnamed
street; thence northerly through Section 22‑T74N‑R13W to a point
approximately 700 feet north of the center of Section 22‑T74N‑R10W;
thence in a northeasterly direction through Section 22, 15 and 14‑T74N‑R10W
to a point approximately 1300 feet south and 1300 feet east of the NW Corner of
Section 14‑T74N‑R10W; thence north following substantially the west
quarter section line of Sections 14, 11 and 2-T74N‑R10W to a point
approximately 1300 feet east of the W ¼ Corner of Section 2-T74N-R10W; thence
in a northeasterly direction through Section 2‑T74N‑R10W and
Section 35-T75N‑R10W to a point near the E ¼ Corner of Section 35‑T75N‑R10W;
thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 36, 25, 24,
