TITLE:  Iowa 180, Keokuk County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 180 begins in the City of Hayesville, and travels easterly to Iowa 149 approximately four miles south of the City of Sigourney.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑180‑0 (3), between the City of Hayesville and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 180 from Fritz Street easterly to the east corporation line to city jurisdiction on April 6, 1981.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑180‑0 (2), between Keokuk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 180 from the east corporation line of the City of Hayesville easterly to Iowa 149 approximately 1300 feet west and 200 feet north of the NE Corner Section 35‑T75N‑R12W to county jurisdiction on August 26, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 180 in Keokuk County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 180 and its extensions in Keokuk County as follows:

 

Hayesville:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Fritz Street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Hayesville, connecting with an unnamed street; thence east following substan­tially the section line of Sections 33, 34 and 35‑T75N‑R12W to a point approximately 1500 feet west of the NE Corner Section 35-T75N-­R12W; thence curving in a northeasterly direction to a point approximately 1300 feet west and 200 feet north of the NE Corner Section 35‑T75N‑R12W (junction Iowa 149).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 180 in Keokuk County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new descrip­tion added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 180 begins in Hayesville and travels in an easterly direction terminating at the junction Iowa 149.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 180 and its extension in Keokuk County, Iowa, as follows:

 

Hayesville:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Fritz Street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Hayesville, connecting with an unnamed street; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 34 and 35‑T75N‑R12W to a point approximately 1500 feet west of the NE Corner Section 35‑T75N‑R12W; thence curving in a northeasterly direction to a point approximately 1300 feet west and 200 feet north of the NE Corner Section 35‑T75N‑R12W (junction Iowa 149).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 180, Keokuk County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
