Beginning at a point approximately 1700 feet north of the W ¼ Corner of Section 12‑T84N‑R4W (junction US 151); thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 12‑T84N‑R4W and Section 7‑T84N‑R3W to a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 7‑T84N‑R3W; thence south through Section 18‑T84N‑R3W to a point approximately 1100 feet north of the center of Section 18‑T84N‑R3W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction to a point approximately 1100 feet east of the center of Section 18‑T84N‑R3W; thence easterly following substantially the center section line of Sections 18, 17, 16, and 15‑T84N‑R3W to a point approximately 700 feet east of the center of Section 15‑T84N‑R3W; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 15, 14, 23, and 24‑T84N‑R3W (west junction Iowa 38) and Section 19‑T84N‑R2W to a point approximately 300 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 19‑T84N‑R2W; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 30, 29 (east junction Iowa 38) and 28‑T84N‑R2W to a point near the N ¼ Corner of Section 28‑T84N‑R2W; thence in a southeasterly, easterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 28, 27, 26, and 25‑T84N‑R2W to the west corporation line of Wyoming connecting with Main Street (west junction Iowa 136).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 64 in Jones County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 64 begins at the junction of US 151 on the south corporation line of Anamosa, Iowa and travels in an easterly direction via Wyoming to the Jones‑Jackson County line approximately 5 miles northeast of Wyoming, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 64 and its extension in Jones County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 1700 feet north of the W ¼ Corner of Section 12-T34N‑R4W (junction US 151); thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 12‑T84N‑R4W and Section 7‑T84N‑R3W to a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 7-T84N-R3W; thence south through Section 18‑T84N‑R3W to a point approximately 1100 feet north of the center of Section 18‑T84N‑R3W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction to a point approximately 1100 feet east of the center of Section 18-T34N-R3W; thence easterly following substantially the center section line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15‑T84N‑R3W to a point approximately 700 feet east of the center of Section 15‑T84N‑R3W; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 15, 14, 23, and 24‑T84N‑R3W (west junction Iowa 38) and Section 19‑T84N‑R2W to a point approximately 300 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 19‑T84N‑R2W; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 30, 29 (east junction Iowa 38) and 28‑T84N‑R2W to a point near the N ¼ Corner of Section 28-T84N‑R2W; thence in a southeasterly, easterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 28, 27, 26, and 25‑T84N‑R2W to the west corporation line of the City of Wyoming connecting with an unnamed street (west junction Iowa 136).

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Wyoming connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly, easterly, southeasterly, northeasterly and easterly direction through Sections 29, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24-T84N‑R1W to the Jones-Jackson County line at a point approximately ¼ mile south of the NE Corner of Section 24‑T34N‑R1W, Jones County (NW Corner Section 19‑T84N‑R1E, Jackson County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 64 in Jones County.

NOTE: To become effective upon the approval of this resolution.
