TITLE:  Official Description Change:  Iowa 303, Jefferson County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 303 begins in the City of Libertyville, and travels northerly to US 34 approximately three miles west of the City of Fairfield.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑303‑0 (2), between the City of Libertyville and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 303 from Maple Avenue northeasterly and northerly to the north corporation line to city jurisdiction on April 6, 1981.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑303‑0 (3), between Jefferson County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 303 from the north corporation line of the City of Libertyville northerly to US 34 approxi­mately 1400 feet north and 200 feet east of the SW Corner Section 29‑T72N‑R10W to county jurisdiction on April 6, 1981.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 303 in Jefferson County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 303 and its extension in Jefferson County as follows:

 

Libertyville:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Maple Avenue; thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Libertyville connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following sub­stantially the east quarter section line of Sections 7 and 6‑T71N-R10W to a point approximately ¼ mile east and 1100 feet south of the center of Section 6‑T71N‑R10W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Section 6‑T71N‑R10W to a point approximately 900 feet south of the NE Corner of Section 6‑T71N‑R10W; thence northerly fol­lowing substantially the section line of Section 5‑T71N‑R10W and Sections 32 and 29‑T72N‑R10W to a point approximately 1200 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 29‑T72N‑R10W; thence curving northeasterly to a point approximately 1400 feet north and 200 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 29‑T72N‑R10W (junction of US 34).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 303 in Jefferson County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 303 begins in Libertyville, Iowa and travels in a northerly direction terminating at the junction of US 34 approximately 3 miles west of Fairfield, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 303 and its extension in Jefferson County as follows:

 

Libertyville:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Maple Avenue; thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
