New Description- Iowa 163 and its extensions in Jasper County described as follows:

Beginning on the Jasper-Polk County line at the NW Corner Section 6-T78N-R21W, Jasper County (NE Corner Section 1-T78N-R22W, Polk County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 6, 5, and 4-T78N-R21W to a point near the NW Corner Section 3-T78N-R21W; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 3-T78N-R21W to the north corporation line of Prairie City connecting with unnamed street.

Prairie City:

Beginning at the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence southeasterly on said unnamed street to the south corporation line.

Beginning again on the south corporation line of Prairie City, connecting with an unnamed street; thence east and southeast through Sections 2 and 1-T78N-R21W and Sections 6, 5, 8, 9, 15, 14, and 23-T78N-R20W to approximately the Center Section 23-T78N-R20W; thence south through Sections 23, 26, and 35-T78N-R20W to approximately the Center Section 35-T78N-R20W; thence southeast and east through Sections 35 and 36-T78N-R20W to the west corporation line of Monroe (approximately the W ¼ Corner SE ¼ of Section 36-T78N-R20W) connecting with an unnamed street.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 163 and its extensions in Jasper County be deleted and the new description be included in the Primary Road System.

Due to the relocation of Iowa 163 at Prairie City, Iowa 163 is being revised. Also, Iowa 117 is being extended to meet Iowa 163 at Prairie City. The remaining old locations of Iowa 163 will be renumbered as Iowa 392.

Proposal/Action Recommendation:

It is recommended the old description of Iowa 163 in Jasper County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be included in the Primary Road System.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 163 in Jasper County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 163 begins at the Jasper‑Polk County line approximately 5 ¼ miles west of Prairie City and travels in a southeasterly direction to the Jasper‑Marion County line near Monroe via the cities of Prairie City and Monroe, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 163 and its extensions in Jasper County, Iowa, as follows:
