Due to the relocation of Iowa 163, Iowa 117 is being extended to meet Relocated Iowa 163 west of Prairie City.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the old description of IA 117 in Jasper County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be included in the Primary Road System.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 117 in Jasper County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 117 begins in Prairie City and travels in a northwesterly direction terminating at junction US 65 and Iowa 330 via the cities of Prairie City, Colfax, and Mingo, Iowa.

Locate Iowa 117 and its extensions in Jasper County, Iowa as follows:

Prairie City:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Second Street (junction Iowa 163); thence northerly and northeasterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Prairie City connecting with an unnamed street; thence north following substantially the section line of 31, 30, 19, 18, and 7‑T79N‑R20W to the east corporation line of the City of Colfax connecting with an unnamed street.

Colfax:

Beginning on the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence westerly, northerly and northwesterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
