Beginning on the Ida‑Woodbury County line at a point approximately 800 feet south of the W ¼ Corner of Section 7‑T86N‑R41W, Ida County (E ¼ Corner of Section 12‑T86N‑R42W, Woodbury County); thence northeasterly through Sections 7, 6, 5, and 4‑T86N‑R41W and Sections 33 and 34‑T87N‑R41W to the south corporation line of Battle Creek, connecting with 1st Street.

Battle Creek:

Beginning on 1st Street at the south corporation line; thence northeast on 1st Street to the east corporation line.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Battle Creek connecting with 1st Street; thence in a northeasterly and easterly direction through Section 26, 23, and 24‑T87N‑R41W and Sections 19, 20, 17, 16, and 15‑T87N‑R40W (west junction US 59) to the west corporation line of Ida Grove connecting with Ohio Street.

Ida Grove:

Beginning on Ohio Street at the west corporation line; thence easterly and southeast on Ohio Street to the east corporation line.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Ida Grove, connecting with Ohio Street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 13 and 24‑T87N‑R40W to a point on the north side of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway at a point approximately 1950 feet north of the SE Corner of Section 24‑T87N‑R20W (east junction of US 59); thence in an easterly direction along the north side of and substantially parallel to the Chicago and Northwestern Railway to the west corporation line of Arthur, connecting with an unnamed street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 175 in Ida County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 175 begins on the Ida‑Woodbury County line approximately 4 miles southwest of Battle Creek, and travels in a northeasterly and easterly direction to the Ida‑Sac County line approximately 1 ½ miles southeast of Arthur, via the cities of Battle Creek, Ida Grove and Arthur, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 175 and its extensions in Ida County as follows:

Beginning on the Ida‑Woodbury County line at a point approximately 800 feet south of the W ¼ Corner of Section 7‑T86N‑R41W, Ida County (E ¼ Corner of Section 12‑T86N‑R42W, Woodbury County); thence northeasterly through Sections 7,6,5, and 4‑T86N‑R41W and Sections 33 and 34‑T87N‑R41W to the south corporation line of the City of Battle Creek, connecting with an unnamed street.

Battle Creek:

Beginning at the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northeasterly to the east corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Battle Creek connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly and easterly direction through Section 26, 23, and 24‑T87N‑R41W and Sections 19, 20, 17, 16 and 15-T87N-R40W (west junction US 59) to the west corporation line of the City of Ida Grove, connecting with an unnamed street.

Ida Grove:

Beginning on the west corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly and southeasterly to the east corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Arthur, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 24 and 25‑T87N‑R39W to the Ida‑Sac County line at a point approximately 800 feet north of the E ¼ Corner Section 25‑T87N-R39W, Ida County (W ¼ Corner Section 30‑T87N‑R38W, Sac County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 175 in Ida County, Iowa.
