DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 17 in Humboldt County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 17 begins on the Humboldt‑Wright County line at the junction Iowa 3 and travels northerly on the Humboldt‑Wright County line to the Humboldt‑Wright‑Kossuth‑Hancock County lines in the NE Corner of Humboldt County.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 17 in Humboldt County as follows:

Beginning on the Humboldt‑Wright County line at a point near the SE Corner Section 36‑T92N‑R27W, Humboldt County (SW Corner Section 31‑T92N‑R26W, Wright County) (west junction Iowa 3); thence northerly along the Humboldt‑Wright County line (see Wright County) to a point near the NE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R27W, Humboldt County (NW Corner of Section 6‑T93N‑R26W, Wright County) (SW Corner of Section 31‑T94N‑R26W, Hancock County) (SW Corner of Section 36‑T94N-R27W, Kossuth County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 17 in Humboldt County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
