Beginning on Main Street at the Howard‑Mitchell County line; thence east on Main Street to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of Riceville, connecting with Main Street; thence east following substantially the center section line of Sections 30, 29, 28, and 27‑T99N‑R14W to a point approximately 1,600 feet west of the E ¼ Corner Section 27‑T99N‑R14W; thence northeast through Section 27 and 26‑T99N‑R14W to a point approxi­mately 2,100 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 26‑T99N‑R14W; thence east following substantially the section line of Section 26 and 25-T99N‑R14W; Sections 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, and 25‑T99N‑R13W; Sections 30 (junction US 63), 29, 28, 27, 26 and 25‑T99N‑R12W and Sections 30, 29, 28 and 27‑T99N‑R11W to the west corporation line of Cresco, con­necting with 2nd Avenue.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Roads Records, Iowa 9 in Howard County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 9 begins at the Howard‑Mitchell County line in Riceville and travels in an easterly direction to the Howard‑Winneshiek County line, 1 mile east of Cresco, via the cities of Riceville and Cresco Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 9 and its extensions in Howard County as follows:

 

Riceville:

 

Beginning on the Howard‑Mitchell County line; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street (See Mitchell County.)

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Riceville, connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly following substantially the center section line of Sections 30, 29, 28, and 27‑T99N‑R14W to a point approximately 1600 feet west of the E ¼ Corner Section 27‑T99N‑R14W; thence northeasterly through Section 27 and 26‑T99N‑R14W to a point approximately 2100 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 26‑T99N‑R14W; thence easterly follow­ing substantially the section line of Section 26 and 25‑T99N‑R14W; Section 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, and 25‑T99N‑R13W; Section 30 (junction US 63), 29, 28, 27, 26 and 25‑T99N‑R12W and Sections 30, 29, 28 and 27-T99N-R11W to the west corporation line of the City of Cresco, connecting with an unnamed street.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 9 in Howard County.
