TITLE:  Iowa 163 in Henry County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to the extension of Iowa 163, the official route description in the Primary Roads System should be revised to reflect this change

 

New Description- Iowa 163 and its extensions in Henry County described as follows:

 

Beginning at a point approximately 416 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 6-T71N-R7W  (Jefferson-Henry County Line) traversing along US 34 southeasterly then easterly through Sections 5, 4, 3, 10, and 11-T71N-R7W to a point near the center of said section then traversing northeasterly through Sections 2, 1, 6, 5, and 4-T71N-R6W, continuing easterly through Sections 33, 34 and 3-T71N-R6W to a point in the NE ¼ Corner approximately 43 feet south and 1219 feet west of the NE Corner of said Section (North Junction with US218).

 

Beginning again from a point in the NE ¼ Corner approximately 43 feet south and 1219 feet west of the NE Corner of Section3-T71N-R6W (North Junction with US218) traversing along US34 southeasterly then southerly through Sections 2 and 11-T71N-R6W at a point near the center of said section (north corporation limits of Mount Pleasant)

 

Mount Pleasant

 

Beginning again from a point near the center of Section 11-T71N-R6W(north corporation limits of Mount Pleasant) traversing south through Section and 14-T71N-R6W at a point 36 feet south and 946 west of the NW Corner of said Section. (South Junction of US218)

 

Beginning again from a point 36 feet south and 946 west of the NW Corner of Section 14-T71N-R6W(South Junction of US218) traversing southeasterly to a point approximately 541 feet south of the NE Corner of the NE ¼ of said Section(east corporation limits of Mount Pleasant).

 

Beginning again at the point approximately 541 feet south of the NE Corner of the NE ¼ of Section 14-T71N-R6W (east corporation limits of Mount Pleasant) traversing southeasterly then easterly through Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 27, 34, 35 and 36-T71N-R5W, at a point approximately 594 feet south of the NE Corner of the SE ¼ of said Section. (Henry-Des Moines County Line).
