Beginning at a point in the NW ¼ of Section 24‑T78N‑R46W (Iowa-Nebraska State line); thence east and northeast through the north part of Section 24‑T78N‑R46W and Section 19‑T78N‑R45W to a point approximately 1,000 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 19‑T78N-R45W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24‑T78N‑R45W and Sections 19, 20 (junction Interstate 35) and 21‑T78N‑R44W to the west corporation line of Missouri Valley connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Missouri Valley:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at the west corporation line; thence northeast on unnamed street to Erie Street; thence east on Erie Street to Lincoln Highway; thence northeast on Lincoln Highway to the east corporation line.

 

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Missouri Valley, connecting with Lincoln Highway; thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 14, 11, 12, and 1‑T78N‑R44W, and Section 6‑T78N‑R43W to a point on the west side of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway approximately 1,500 feet east and 3,300 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 6‑T78N‑R43W; thence in a northeasterly direction along the west side of said railroad substantially parallel thereto, through Section 6‑T78N‑R43W and Sections 35, 26, and 25‑T79N‑R43W to a point approximately 700 feet west of the N ¼ Corner of Section 25‑T79N‑R43W; thence in a northeasterly direction through Section 24‑T79N‑R43W to the south corporation line of Logan, connecting with Maple Avenue.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Road System records, US 30 in Harrison County should be deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

US 30 begins 11 miles west of Missouri Valley at the Nebraska‑Iowa State line traveling easterly and northeasterly to the Harrison‑Crawford County line via the cities of Missouri Valley, Logan, Woodbine, and Dunlap, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate US 30 and its extensions in Harrison County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point in the NW ¼ of Section 24‑T78N‑R46W (Iowa‑Nebraska State line); thence in an easterly and northeasterly direction through the north part of Section 24‑T78N‑R46W and Section 19‑T78N‑R45W to a point approximately 1000 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 19‑T78N‑R45W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24‑T78N‑R45 and Sections 19, 20 (junction Interstate 35) and 21‑T78N‑R45W to the west corporation line of the City of Missouri Valley connecting with an unnamed street.
