DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑986‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑43, between Harrison County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred Unsigned Iowa 986 from its junction with Iowa 301 near the north line of Section 26‑T81N‑R45W northwesterly to the Harrison‑Monona County line to county jurisdiction on May 13, 1986. To reflect this jurisdiction change the official description of Unsigned Iowa 986 should be deleted from the Primary Road System.

Unsigned Iowa 986 begins at the junction with Iowa 301 near Little Sioux and travels northwesterly to the Harrison‑Monona County line near the northwest corner of Harrison County.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve deleting the present description of Unsigned Iowa 986 in Harrison County from the Primary Road System.

Old Description ‑ Unsigned Iowa 986 in Harrison County described as follows:

Beginning near the north line of Section 26‑T81N‑R45W (junction Iowa 301); thence northerly and northwesterly through Sections 23, 14, 15, 10, 9 and 4‑T81N‑R45W to a point approximately 900 feet south of the center of Section 4‑T81N‑R45W; thence northerly through said Section 4 to the Harrison‑Monona County line at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 4‑T81N‑R45W, Harrison County, (S ¼ Corner of Section 33‑T82N‑R45W, Monona County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Unsigned Iowa 986 in Harrison County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Unsigned Iowa 986 in Harrison County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
