DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 424 begins on the east corporation line of Britt, and travels in a northeasterly direction approximately one‑half mile to a junction with US 18.

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑424‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑41 between Hancock County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved April 4, 1980, Iowa 424 from the east corporation line of Britt northeasterly to a junction with US 18 in the SW ¼ Section 27‑T96N‑R25W should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Hancock County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 424 in Hancock County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 424 in Hancock County as follows:

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Britt connecting with an unnamed street at a point approximately 1100 feet north and 800 feet east of the SW Corner Section 27‑T96N‑R25W; thence in a northeasterly direction through said Section 27 to the junction with US 18 in the SW ¼ Section 27-T96N‑R25W.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 424 in Hancock County should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 424 begins on the east corporation line of Britt, and travels in a northeasterly direction approximately ½ mile to a junction with US 18.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 424 in Hancock County as follows:

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Britt connecting with an unnamed street at a point approximately 1100 feet north and 800 feet east of the SW Corner Section 27‑T96N‑R25W; thence in a northeasterly direction through said Section 27 to the junction with US 18 in the SW ¼ Section 27‑T96N‑R25W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 424 in Hancock County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
