Beginning at a point near the SW Corner of Section 31‑T94N‑R26W, Hancock County (SE Corner Section 36‑T94N‑R27W, Kossuth County) (NE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R27W, Humboldt County) (NW Corner Section 6-T93N‑R26W, Wright County); thence north following substantially the Hancock‑Kossuth County line along Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T94N‑R26W, Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T95N‑R26W and Section 31‑T96N‑R26W to the NW Corner Section 31‑T96N‑R26W (junction US 18), Hancock County (NE Corner Section 36‑T96N‑R27W, Kossuth County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 17 in Hancock County should be deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 17 begins at the Kossuth‑Humboldt‑Wright and Hancock County line, 5 miles south of Corwith traveling north on the Kossuth‑Hancock County line terminating at the junction US 18, 8 miles west of Britt, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 17 in Hancock County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner of Section 31‑T94N‑R26W, Hancock County (SE Corner Section 36‑T94N‑R27W, Kossuth County) (NE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R27W, Humboldt County) (NW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R26W, Wright County); thence north following substantially the Hancock‑Kossuth County line along Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6-T94N‑R26W, Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T95N‑R26W and Section 31‑T96N‑R26W to the NW Corner Section 31‑T96N‑R26W (junction US 18), Hancock County (NE Corner Section 36‑T96N‑R27W, Kossuth County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 17 in Hancock County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
