DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Due
to review of our
US
30 begins at the Greene‑Carroll County line approximately ¼ mile north of
Ralston, and travels easterly via the Cities of Ralston, Jefferson and Grand
Junction, to the Greene‑Boone County line approximately 3 miles east of
Grand Junction, Iowa.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Locate
US 30 in Greene County as follows:
Beginning at the Carroll‑Greene
County line at a point approximately 1,531 feet north of the SW Corner of
Section 30‑T84N‑R32W,
Ralston:
Beginning
at the north corporation line; connecting with an unnamed street; thence
southeasterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning
again at the east corporation line of the City of Ralston connecting with an
unnamed street; thence curving southeasterly through Section 32‑T84N‑R32W
to a point approximately 400 feet west of the N ¼ Corner of Section 5‑T84N‑R32W;
thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 5, 4, 3 (junction
Iowa 25), 2, and 1‑T83N‑R32W and Sections 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1‑T83N‑R31W
to the west corporation line of the City of Jefferson connecting with an
unnamed street.
Beginning at the west corporation
line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence east to the east corporation
line connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning
again at the east corporation line of the City of Jefferson connecting with an unnamed
street; thence in an easterly direction following substantially the section
line of Sections 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1‑T83N‑R30W, and 6 and 5‑T83N‑R29W
to a point approximately 1,440 feet east of the SW Corner Section 32-T84N‑R29W;
thence in a northeasterly direction to the west corporation line of the City of
Grand Junction, connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning at the west corporation
line, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in an easterly direction to the
east corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning
again at the east corporation line of the City of Grand Junction connecting
with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Sections 33
and 34‑T84N‑R29W and southeasterly, easterly, and northeasterly
through Section 3T83N‑R29W to a point approximately 475 feet south of
the NW Corner Section 2‑T83N‑R29W; thence easterly through the
north part of Sections 2 and 1‑T83N‑R29W to the Greene‑Boone
County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 1‑T83N‑R29W,
Greene County (NW Corner Section 6‑T83N‑R28W, Boone County)
NOW,
THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve
the location of US 30 in Greene County,

To be effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 33 and
34‑T84N‑R29W and southeasterly, easterly and northeasterly through
Section 3‑T83N‑R29W to a point near the NW Corner Section 2‑T83N‑R29W;
thence easterly through the north part of Sections 2 and 1‑T83N‑R29W,
to the Greene‑Boone County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 1‑T83N‑R29W,
