DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
With the Senate File 451 transferring the portion
Iowa 333 from the eastern junction with US275 east to the junction with US59,
to county jurisdiction, as of July 1, 2003 it is recommended to approve revising the
description of Iowa 333, in Fremont County, and including the new description
in the Primary Road System.
New
Description ‑ Iowa 333 in Fremont County described as follows:
Beginning
at the west ramps of Interstate 29 at a point approximately 800 feet west of
the NE Corner Section 29‑T67N‑R42W; thence easterly following
substantially the section line of Sections 29 (junction Interstate 29) and 28‑T67N‑R42W
to a point approximately 1300 feet west of the NE Corner said Section 28;
thence southeasterly through Section 28‑T67N‑42W to the west
corporation line of the City of Hamburg connection with North Street.
City
of Hamburg:
Beginning
on North Street at the west corporation line; thence southeasterly on North
Street to Washington Street; thence northeasterly on Washington Street to E
Street; thence southeasterly on E Street to the east corporation line.
Beginning
again on the East Corporation Line of the City of Hamburg connecting with E
Street; thence southeasterly through Section 22‑T67N‑R42W to a
point near the SE Corner said Section 22 (east junction US 275).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Iowa 333 begins at the west ramps
of Interstate 29 approximately one mile west of the City of Hamburg
and travels easterly via Hamburg to US 59
approximately eleven miles south of the City of Shenandoah.
Iowa 333 has been relocated
in the City of Hamburg
from the intersection of North
Street and Main Street southeasterly on North Street to Washington Street
and northeasterly on Washington
Street to E street. Transfer of jurisdiction
agreement number 84‑3‑161 between the Iowa Department of
Transportation and the City of Hamburg transferred
the old alignment of Iowa
333 on Main Street
from North Street
northeasterly to E Street and E Street southeasterly from Main Street to Washington Street to city jurisdiction on
12‑7‑84. To reflect this relocation and to provide a more detailed
description of the extension of Iowa 333 in Hamburg the official description of Iowa
333 in Fremont County should be revised and the new
description officially included in the Primary Road System.

RECOMMENDATION:
It
is recommended to approve revising the description of Iowa
333 in Fremont County and including the new description
in the Primary Road System.

Transfer
of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0 (1), between Fremont
County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred the section of
road from the west ramps of Interstate 29 approximately 800 feet west of the NE
Corner Section 29‑T67N‑R42W easterly to the west corporation line
of the City of Hamburg approximately 1300 feet west of the NE Corner Section 28‑T67N-R42W,
and from US 275 approximately one‑half mile
east of the City of Hamburg easterly to US 59 near the NE Corner Section 26‑T67N‑R40W
to state jurisdiction on December 19, 1980.
Transfer

Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the section of road from the

corporation line of the City of Hamburg approximately 500 feet to the west
corporation line of the City of Hamburg to state jurisdiction on December 19,
