Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 218 in Floyd County, Iowa should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

US 218 begins at the Floyd‑Chickasaw County line approximately ½ mile north of Nashua and travels in a northwesterly direction via the cities of Charles City and Floyd to the Floyd‑Mitchell County line approximately 5 ½ miles north of Floyd, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate US 218 and its extensions in Floyd County as follows:

Beginning at the Floyd‑Chickasaw County line at a point near the NE Corner Section 13‑T94N‑R11W, Floyd County (NW Corner Section 18‑T94N‑R14W, Chickasaw County); thence in a northwesterly direction through Sections 12, 11, 2, and 3‑T94N‑R15W to a point approximately 1,000 feet west of the SE Corner Section 34‑T95N‑R15W, and continuing northwesterly through Sections 34, 33, 28, 29, 20, 17, and 18‑T95N‑R15W to a point approximately 400 feet south of the NW Corner Section 18‑T95N‑R15W; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 18‑T95N‑R15W to the south corporation line of the City of Charles City connecting with an unnamed street.
