Beginning at the Fayette‑Chickasaw County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 18‑T94N‑R10W, Fayette County (NE Corner Section 13‑T94N‑R11W, Chickasaw County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 18, 17 (junction Iowa 193), 16, 15, 14, and 13‑T94N‑R10W and Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13‑T94N‑R9W and Section 18‑T94N‑R8W to the west corporation line of West Union, connecting with Bradford Street.

West Union:

Beginning at the west corporation line connecting with Bradford Street; thence east on Bradford Street to the east corporation line.

Beginning again at the east corporation line of West Union, connecting with Bradford Street; thence in an easterly and northeasterly direction through Sections 16, 9, 10, 3, 2, and 1‑T94N‑R8W and Sections 6, 5, and 4‑T94N‑R7W, and Section 33‑T95N‑R7W to the west corporation line of Clermont, connecting with Mill Street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 18 in Fayette County, Iowa should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

US 18 begins at the Fayette‑Chickasaw County line approximately 8 miles northwest of Hawkeye and travels in an easterly and northeasterly direction via the Cities of West Union and Clermont to the Fayette‑Clayton County line in the northeast corner of Fayette County.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate US 18 and its extensions in Fayette County as follows:

Beginning at the Fayette‑Chickasaw County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 18‑T94N‑R10W, Fayette County (NE Corner Section 13‑T94N‑R11W, Chickasaw County); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 18, 17 (junction Iowa 193), 16, 15, 14, and 13‑T94N‑R10W and Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13‑T94N‑R9W and Section 18‑T94N‑R8W to the west corporation line of the City of West Union, connecting with an unnamed street.
