DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 43 begins in the City of Ringsted and travels easterly to a junction with Iowa 15 approximately one mile east of Ringsted.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑2‑32 between the State of Iowa and the City of Ringsted, that portion of Iowa 43 in the City of Ringsted should be removed from the primary road system and reverted to the City street system, effective January 1, 1980.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑1‑32 between the State of Iowa and Emmet County, the rural portion of Iowa 43 should be removed from the primary road system and reverted to the Emmet County road system, effective January 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 43 in Emmet County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 43 and its extension in Emmet County as follows:

Ringsted:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Second Street; thence northeasterly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Ringsted connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 22 and 23‑T98N‑R31W to a point approximately 400 feet east of the NW Corner Section 23‑T98N‑R31W (junction Iowa 15).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 43 in Emmet County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 43 in Emmet County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description; be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 43 and its extension in Emmet County as follows:

Ringsted:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Second Street; thence northeasterly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
