DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 963 begins at US 151 approximately 1 mile northwest of the Dubuque Municipal Airport; and travels generally northeasterly to US 61 and US 151 near the southernmost corporation line of Dubuque, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Unsigned Iowa 963 in Dubuque County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the new description of Unsigned Iowa 963 in Dubuque County, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Unsigned Iowa 963 in Dubuque County as follows:

Beginning at a point in the eastern part of Section 21‑T88N‑R2E (junction US 151); thence northeasterly through said Section 21; thence northeasterly and northwesterly through Section 22‑T88N‑R2E: thence northwesterly and northeasterly through Section 15‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly through Section 14‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly, easterly, and northeasterly through Section 11‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly and southeasterly through Section 12‑T88N‑R2E to a point in the NW ¼ Section 12‑T88N‑R2E (junction US 61 and US 151).

Beginning at a point on the W ¼ Corner of Section 22‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly, northwesterly through Section 22‑T88N‑R2E; thence northwesterly northeasterly through Section 15‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly, easterly, and northeasterly through Section 11‑T88N‑R2E; thence northeasterly through Section 12 connecting with a point on US 61 near the NW Corner of Section 12‑T88N‑R2E.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 963 in Dubuque County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
