DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 335 begins at a junction with Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile south of the City of Dawson and proceeds north to the City of Dawson.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑335‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑25, between Dallas County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 335 from a junction with Iowa 141 near the SW Corner Section 10‑T81N‑R39W north to the south corporation line of the City of Dawson to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

The Functional Classification Review Board hearing of July 21, 1980 between the Iowa Department of Transportation (transferring jurisdiction) and the City of Dawson (receiving jurisdiction), transferred that portion of Iowa 335 from the south corporation line of the City of Dawson north to approximately 100 feet north of Walnut Street to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 335 in Dallas County from the primary road system.

 

Remove from the primary road system Iowa 335 and its extension in Dallas County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner of Section 10‑T81N‑R29W (junction Iowa 141); thence north following substantially the section line of Section 10‑T81N‑R29W to the south corporation line of the City of Dawson connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Dawson:

 

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence north to a point approximately 100 feet north of Walnut Street.

Due to the review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 335 in Dallas County should be deleted from the Primary System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 335 begins at the junction of Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile south of Dawson, Iowa and travels northerly terminating in Dawson, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 335 and its extension in Dallas County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner of Section 10‑T81N‑R29W (junction Iowa 141); thence north following substantially the section line of Section 10‑T81N‑R29W to the south corporation line of the City of Dawson connecting with unnamed street.

 

Dawson:

 

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence north to a point approximately 100 feet north of Walnut Street.

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Trans­portation approve the location of Iowa 335 in Dallas County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
