DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 232 begins on the Dallas‑Madison County line approximately five miles east of the City of Dexter, and travels north approxi­mately one mile to Interstate 80.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑232‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑25, between Dallas County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred Iowa 232 from the Dallas‑Madison county line near the SE Corner SW ¼ Section 31‑T78N‑R28W north to Interstate 80 approximately 300 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 30‑T78N‑R28W to county jurisdiction on July 14, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 232 in Dallas County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 232 in Dallas County as follows:

 

Beginning near the SE Corner SW ¼ SW ¼ Section 31‑T78N‑R28W, Dallas County (NE Corner NW ¼ NW ¼ Section 6‑T77N‑R28W, Madison County); thence north through the west part of Section 31 and 30‑T78N‑R28W to a point approximately 300 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 30‑T78N‑R28W (Interstate 80 Interchange).

Due to the review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 232 in Dallas County should be deleted from the Primary System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 232 begins at the Dallas‑Madison County line approximately 5 ½ miles southeast of Dexter, Iowa and travels north terminating at the Interstate 80 interchange approximately 4 ½ miles east of Dexter, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 232 in Dallas County as follows:

 

Beginning near the SE Corner SW ¼ SW ¼ Section 31‑T78N‑R28W, Dallas County (NE Corner NW ¼ NW ¼ Section 6‑T77N‑R28W, Madison County); thence north through the west part of Section 31 and 30‑T78N‑R28W to a point approximately 300 feet north of the S ¼ Corner SW ¼ Section 30‑T78N‑R28W (Interstate 80 Interchange).
