New Description - Iowa 210 and its extension in Dallas County described as follows:

Beginning at a point just south of the N ¼ Corner Section 18-T81N-R26W (south ramps of Iowa 141); thence north through Sections 18 and 7 to the south corporation line of Woodward connecting with Main Street.

Woodward:

Beginning on Main Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Main Street to the north corporation line, (Dallas-Boone County line).

Beginning again at the Dallas-Boone County line near the N ¼ Corner Section 6-T81N-R26W, Dallas County (S ¼ Corner Section 31-T82N-R26W, Boone County) on the north corporation line of the City of Woodward connecting with Main Street; thence east along the Dallas-Boone County line following substantially the section line of Sections 6 and 5-T81N-R26W to a point approximately 290 meters (950 feet) east of the NW Corner Section 5-T81N-R26W, Dallas County (SW Corner Section 32-T82N-R26W, Boone County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑089‑2 (9)‑‑2M‑08 between Boone County and the Iowa Department of Transportation and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑089‑2 (8)‑‑2M‑08 between the City of Madrid and the Iowa Department of Transportation extended Iowa 210 from the Boone‑Story County line west to a junction with Iowa 17 in the City of Madrid. To maintain continuity in the Iowa route numbering system Iowa 89 should be re-designated as a portion of Iowa 210.

Iowa 210 begins at a junction with Iowa 141 approximately one mile south of the City of Woodward and proceeds north to the Dallas‑Boone County line on the north corporation line of the City of Woodward.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of Iowa 210 in Dallas County in the primary road system.

Locate Iowa 210 and its extension in Dallas County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the S ¼ Corner Section 7‑T81N‑R26W (junction of Iowa 141); thence northerly through said Section 7 to the south corporation line of the City of Woodward connecting with an unnamed street.

Woodward:

Beginning at the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence north to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street, (Dallas‑Boone County line).

Beginning again at the Dallas‑Boone County line near the N ¼ Corner Section 6‑T81N‑R26W, Dallas County (S ¼ Corner Section 31-T82N‑R26W, Boone County) on the north corporation line of the City of Woodward connecting with an unnamed street; thence east along the Dallas‑Boone County line following substantially the section line of Sections 6 and 5‑T81N‑R26W to a point approximately 950 feet east of the NW Corner Section 5‑T81N‑R26W, Dallas County (SW Corner Section 32‑T82N‑R26W, Boone County).
