Marquette:

 

Beginning on 1st Street at the junction of US 18; thence north on 1st Street to an unnamed street; thence easterly and northerly on unnamed street to the north corporation line.

 

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Marquette connecting with an unnamed street on the west side of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad; thence in a northerly direction along the west side of said railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Section 10 and 3‑T95N‑R3W to the Clayton-­Allamakee County line at a point approximately 400 feet east of the N ¼ Corner Section 3‑T95N‑R3W, Clayton County (S ¼ Corner Section 34‑T96N‑R3W, Allamakee County).

 

Due to the relocation of US 18 in the McGregor/Marquette area, the present description of Iowa 76 in Clayton County should be deleted and changed to include the by‑passed portion of US 18. This section of US 18 will be described as Iowa 76, but will be signed as US Business Route 18 in the field.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended to approve deleting the present road system and approve including the attached new description of Iowa 76 in the Primary Road System.

 

Locate Iowa 76 and its extensions in Clayton County as follows:

 

Beginning near the center of Section 29‑T95N‑R3W; thence east through Sections 29 and 28 to the west corporation line of the city of McGregor, connecting with West Main Street.

 

McGregor:

 

Beginning on West Main Street at the west corporation line; thence southeast on West Main Street to 7th Street; thence northeast and southeast on 7th Street to Main Street; thence northeast on Main Street to River Street; thence north on River Street to Water Street; thence north on Water Street to the north corporation line (south corporation line of Marquette).

 

Marquette:

 

Beginning on 1st Street at the south corporation line (north corporation line of McGregor); thence northerly on 1st Street to an unnamed street easterly and northerly on unnamed street to the north corporation line.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 76 in Clayton County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 76 in Clayton County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Iowa 76 begins in Marquette, Iowa and travels northerly to the Clayton‑Allamakee County line approximately 2 miles north of Marquette, Iowa.
