DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to construction and realignment of US 71 just east of Fostoria in 1993, the official description of US 71 in Clay County should be changed in the Primary Road System to reflect this.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 88-TJ-003 then transferred the old sections of US 71 to the City of Fostoria and Clay County on June 30, 1993.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the old description for US 71 in Clay County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be added to the Primary Road System.

New Description - US 71 and its extensions in Clay County described as follows:

Beginning on the Clay-Buena Vista County line at a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 36-T94N-R37W, Clay County (N ¼ Corner of Section 1-T93N-R37W, Buena Vista County); thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12, and 1-T94N-R37W and Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12 and 1-T95N-R37W and Sections 36, 25, and 24-T96N-R37W to the south corporation line of Spencer connecting with an unnamed street.

Spencer:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south corporation line; thence north on said unnamed street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Spencer connecting with an unnamed street; thence north through the center of Section 24-T96N-R37W to a point near the W ¼ Corner of the NE ¼ of said Section 24 to the west corporation line of Spencer.
