New Description - Iowa 24 and its extensions in Chickasaw County described as follows:

 

Beginning at the US 18/US 63 Interchange (approximately 920 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 12-T95N-R13W); thence east following substantially the section line of Section 12-T95N-R13W to the west corporation line of New Hampton (approximately 2650 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 12-T95N-R13W) connecting with Milwaukee Street.

 

New Hampton:

 

Beginning on the west corporation line (approximately 2650 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 12-T95N-R13W) connecting with Milwaukee Street; thence east on Milwaukee Street to Linn Avenue; thence south on Linn Avenue to Main Street; thence east on Main Street to the east corporation line (approximately the W ¼ Corner of Section 8-T95N-R12W).

 

Beginning again on the east corporation line of New Hampton (approximately the W ¼ Corner of Section 8-T95N-R12W); thence east following substantially the center section line of Section 8-T95N-R12W to a point near the E ¼ Corner of Section 8-T95N-R12W on the south side of said Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad; thence easterly and northeasterly along the south side of said railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Sections 9, 10, 11, and 12-T95N-R12W to a point near the N ¼ Corner of Section 12-T95N-R12W; thence east following  substantially the section line of Section 12-T95N-R12W and Sections 7, 8, and 9-T95N-R11W to the west corporation line of Lawler connecting with South Street.

 

Lawler:

 

Beginning on the west corporation line (approximately 1290 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 9-T95N-R11W) connecting with South Street; thence east and northeasterly on South Street to the east corporation line (approximately 1970 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 3-T95N-R11W).

 

Beginning again on the east corporation line of Lawler connecting with South Street; thence in a northeasterly direction along said south side of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad and substantially parallel thereto through Sections 3 and 2-T95N-R11W and Sections 35 and 36-T96N-R11W to the Chickasaw-Winneshiek County line at a point approximately 900 feet south of the NE Corner of Section 36-T96N-R11W, Chickasaw County (NW Corner of Section 31-T96N-R10W, Winneshiek County).

 

PROPOSAL /ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 24 and its extensions in Chickasaw County be deleted and the new description be included in the Primary Road System.

Due to the review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 24 in Chickasaw County should be deleted from the Primary System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 24 begins at the junction of US 18 and 63 in New Hampton, Iowa and travels in an easterly direction via New Hampton and Lawler, Iowa to the Chickasaw‑Winneshiek County line approximately 3 miles Northeast of Lawler, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 24 and its extensions in Chickasaw County as follows:

 

New Hampton:

 

Beginning at the intersection of Linn Avenue and Main Street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with unnamed street.
