DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 143 in Cherokee County should be deleted and the new description should be officially included into the primary system.

Iowa 143 begins at the junction of Iowa 3 approximately ½ mile south of Marcus, Iowa and travels northerly via Marcus, Iowa to the Cherokee‑O'Brien County line approximately 5 ¾ miles north of Marcus, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 143 and its extension in Cherokee County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the SE Corner of Section 4‑T92N‑R42W (junction Iowa 3 and 143); thence north following substantially the section line of Section 3-T93N-R42W to the south corporation line of the City of Marcus, connecting with an unnamed street.

Marcus:

Beginning at the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street, northerly to the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again at the north corporation line of the City of Marcus, connecting with an unnamed street; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 10 and 3‑T93N‑R42W to the Cherokee‑O'Brien County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 3-T93N-R42W, Cherokee County (SW Corner Section 34‑T94N‑R42W, O'Brien County).
