DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Iowa 288 begins at a junction
with US 65 approximately four miles north of the City of Mason City and travels
easterly to the City of Plymouth.
Due to transfer of jurisdiction
agreement number TJ‑288‑0 (3) ‑‑2M‑17, between
Cerro Gordo County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved February
21, 1980, that portion of Iowa 288 from a junction with US 65 near the N ¼
Corner of Section 9‑T97N‑R20W easterly to the west corporation line
of the City of Plymouth was removed from the primary road system and reverted
to the Cerro Gordo County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.
Due to transfer of jurisdiction
agreement number TJ‑288‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑17, between
the City of Plymouth and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved
February 11, 1980, that portion of Iowa 288 from the west corporation line
northeasterly and northerly to the south line of Main Street was removed from
the primary road system and reverted to the city street system of the City of
Plymouth effective July 1, 1980.
PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the
description of Iowa 288 in Cerro Gordo County, as attached, be deleted from the
primary road system.
Remove Iowa 288 and its
extension in Cerro Gordo County as follows:
Beginning at a point near the N
¼ Corner of Section 9‑T97N‑R20W (junction of US 65); thence
easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 9, 10, 11 and 12‑T97N‑R20W
and Section 7‑T97N‑R19W to the west corporation line of the City of
Plymouth connecting with an unnamed street.
Plymouth:
Beginning on the west
corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northeasterly and
northerly to the south line of Main Street

the Primary Road System.
