Due
to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 71 in Cass County should be
deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the
Primary Road System.

71 begins at the Cass‑Montgomery County line approximately 15 miles south
of Atlantic, Iowa and travels in a northeasterly direction to the Cass-Audubon
County line approximately 8 miles northeast of Atlantic, Iowa.

RECOMMENDATION:
Locate
US 71 in Cass County as follows:
Beginning
on the Cass‑Montgomery County line, at a point near the SW Corner Section
34‑T74N‑R36W, Cass County (NW Corner Section 3‑T73N‑R36W,
Montgomery County); thence north following substantially the section line
through Sections 34, 27, 22, 15 and 10‑T74N‑R36W to a point approximately
1,150 feet south of the NW Corner of Section 10‑T74N‑R36W; thence
curving northwesterly, northeasterly through Section 9, 4 and 3‑T74N‑R36W
