Beginning on the Carroll‑Audubon County line at a point near the SW Corner of Section 33‑T82N‑R35W, Carroll County (NW Corner of Section 4‑T81N‑R35W, Audubon County); thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 28 and 21‑T82N‑R35W (west junction Iowa 141) at a point near the NW Corner said Section 21; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 21, 22 and 23‑T82N‑R35W (east junction Iowa 141) at a point near the NE Corner said Section 23; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 13, 12 and 1‑T82N‑R35W and Sections 36, 25, 24, 13, 12 and 1‑T83N‑R35W and Section 36 and 25‑T84N-R35W to the south corporation line of the City of Carroll connecting with Lincoln Street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, US 71 in Carroll County should be deleted, and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

US 71 begins at the Carroll‑Audubon County line approximately 3 ½ miles south of Templeton and travels in a northerly direction to the Carroll‑Sac County line approximately 7 miles northeast of Breda via the City of Carroll, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate US 71 and its extension in Carroll County as follows:
