DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 3 in Buena Vista County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 3 begins at the Buena Vista‑Cherokee County line approximately 5 miles north and 4 miles west of Alta and travels easterly intersecting with US 71 to the Buena Vista‑Pocahontas County line approximately 1 ½ miles south and 2 miles east of Albert City.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 3 in Buena Vista County as follows:

Beginning at the Cherokee‑Buena Vista County line at a point near the NW Corner of Section 31‑T92N‑R38W, Buena Vista County (SE Corner Section 25‑T92N‑R39W, Cherokee County); thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R38W, Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R37W (junction US 71), Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R36W, and Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36‑T92N‑R35W to the Buena Vista‑Pocahontas County line near the NE Corner Section 36-T92N-R35W, Buena Vista County (SW Corner Section 30‑T92N‑R34W, Pocahontas County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 3 in Buena Vista County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
