DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 351 begins on the east corporation line of the City of Rembrandt, and travels generally easterly approximately one‑half mile to US 71.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑351‑0 (1) between Buena Vista County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred Iowa 351 from the east corpora­tion line of the City of Rembrandt easterly and southeasterly to US 71 approximately 900 feet north of the SE Corner Section 36‑T93N‑R37W to county jurisdiction on November 25, 1981.

 

PROPOSAL/ ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 351 in Buena Vista County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 351 in Buena Vista County as follows:

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Rembrandt, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Section 36‑T93N‑R37W to a point approximately 1,100 feet north and 200 feet west of the SE Corner Section 25‑T93N‑R37W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction to a point approximately 900 feet north of the SE Corner Section 36‑T93N‑R37W (junction US 71).

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑351‑0 (2), between the City of Rembrandt and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 351 in the City of Rembrandt from First Avenue east to the east corporation line to city jurisdiction on August 11, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 351 in Buena Vista County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of Iowa 351 in the primary road system.

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Rembrandt, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction through Section 36‑T93N‑R37W to a point approximately 1100 feet north and 200 feet west of the SE Corner Section 25‑T93N‑R37W; thence curving in a southeasterly direction to a point approximately 900 feet north of the SE Corner Section 36‑T93N‑R37W (junction US 71).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 351 in Buena Vista County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 351 in Buena Vista County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
