DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2000-TJ-009, between Bremer County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 390 from the SW Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 29-T93N-R14W to the south corporation line of Plainfield (approximately W ¼ Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W), connecting with Main Street and again on the north corporation line of Plainfield connecting with Main Street; thence in a northwesterly direction through Section 19-T93N-R14W to 130th (a secondary road), approximately 320 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 19-T93N-R14W to county jurisdiction on January 5, 2004.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2002-TJ-022, between the City of Plainfield and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 390 from the south corporation line (approximately W ¼ Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W) connecting with Main Street; thence in a northwesterly direction on Main Street to the north corporation line (approximately 750 feet north and 730 feet west of the NW Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W) to city jurisdiction on May 20, 2003.

New Description - Unsigned Iowa 390 and its extensions in Bremer County described as follows:

Beginning at the SW Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 29-T93N-R14W to the south corporation line of Plainfield (approximately W ¼ Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W), connecting with Main Street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Plainfield connecting with Main Street; thence in a northwesterly direction through Section 19-T93N-R14W to 130th (a secondary road), approximately 320 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 19-T93N-R14W.

Beginning at the SW Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W; thence north following substantially the section line of Section 29-T93N-R14W to the south corporation line of Plainfield (approximately W ¼ Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W), connecting with Main Street.

Plainfield:

Beginning at the south corporation line (approximately W ¼ Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W), connecting with Main Street; thence in a northwesterly direction on Main Street to the north corporation line (approximately 750 feet north and 730 feet west of the NW Corner of Section 29-T93N-R14W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Plainfield connecting with Main Street; thence in a northwesterly direction through Section 19-T93N-R14W to 130th (a secondary road), approximately 320 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 19-T93N-R14W.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 390 in Bremer County to the Primary Road System.
