DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

New Description - Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) and its extensions in Bremer County described as follows:

Janesville:

Beginning on the Bremer-Black Hawk County line at the S ¼ SW ¼ Section 36-T91N-R14W, connecting with US 218; thence north and northwesterly on US 218 to the north corporation line (approximately 1300 feet east and 320 feet south of the NW Corner Section 35-T91N-R14W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Janesville, connecting with US 218 (approximately 1300 feet east and 320 feet south of the NW Corner Section 35-T91N-R14W); thence northwesterly through Section 26 to a point approximately 900 feet east of the NW Corner of Section 26; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately 1000 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 23; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 23 and 14 to just north of the SW Corner Section 14; then northwesterly, westerly and northwesterly through Sections 15, 16 and 17 to a point just north of the W ¼ Corner of Section 17; thence northerly on west section line of 17 and 8 to the NW Corner Section 8 (Intersection Iowa 3); thence northerly on the west section line of Sections 5-T91N-R14W and 32, 29, 20, 17, 8, 5-T92N-R14W and 32 and 29-T93N-R14W to approximately the W ¼ Corner of Section 29; thence northwesterly to the south corporation line of Plainfield, connecting with Main Street.

Plainfield:

Beginning on Main Street at the south corporation line; thence in a northwesterly direction on Main Street to the north corporation line (approximately 650 feet west and 620 feet north of the SE Corner Section 19-T93N-R14W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Plainfield, connecting with Main Street (approximately 650 feet west and 620 feet north of the SE Corner Section 19-T93N-R14W); thence in a northwesterly direction through Section 19-T93N-R14W to near the N ¼ Corner Section 19; thence northerly through the center part of Sections 18, 7, and 6-T93N-R14W to the Bremer-Chickasaw County line at a point on the north line of Section 6-T93N-R14W, Bremer County (south line of Section 31-T94N-R14W, Chickasaw County).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) in Bremer County to the Primary Road System.
