DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 241 begins in the City of Readlyn and travels generally northerly approximately one mile to Iowa 3 approximately one‑half mile north of the corporate limits of the City of Readlyn.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑241‑0 (4)‑‑2M‑09 between the City of Readlyn and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa 241 from Second Street north and northwesterly to the north corporation line was transferred to city jurisdiction effective July 1, 1980.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑241‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑09 between Bremer County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, that portion of Iowa Route 241 from the north corporation limits of the City of Readlyn northerly approximately one‑half mile to Iowa 3 was transferred to county jurisdiction effective July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 241 in Bremer County, as attached, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 241 and its extension in Bremer County as follows:

Readlyn:

Beginning on unnamed street at Second Street; thence northerly, northwesterly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Readlyn, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the center section line of Section 11‑T91N‑R12W to a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 11‑T91N‑R12W (junction Iowa 3).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 241 in Bremer County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 241 in Bremer County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
