Beginning at the Boone-Dallas County line at a point near the S ¼ Corner Section 31-T82N-R26W, Boone County (N ¼ Corner Section 6-T81N-R26W, Dallas County) on the north corporation line of Woodward connecting with Main Street; thence east along the Boone-Dallas County line following substantially the south section line of Sections 31 and 32-T82N-R26W to a point approximately 950 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 32-T82N-R26W, Boone County (NW Corner Section 5-T81N-R26W, Dallas County); thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 32, 33, 34 and 35-T82N-R26W to a point approximately 2200 feet west of the NE Corner Section 35-T82-R26W; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 35 and 36-T82N-R26W to the west corporation line of Madrid connecting with North Street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑089‑2 (8)‑‑2M‑08, between the City of Madrid and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the road section on North Street from a junction with Iowa 17 east to the east corporation line to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1980. The section is now designated Iowa 210.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑089‑2 (9)‑‑2M‑08, between Boone County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the section of road from the east corporation line of the City of Madrid easterly to the Boone‑Story County line near the NE Corner Section 36‑T82N‑R25W to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1980. The section is now designated Iowa 210.

To maintain continuity in the Iowa route numbering system Iowa 89 from the Boone‑Dallas County line on the north corporation line of the City of Woodward northeasterly and easterly to a junction with Iowa 17 in the City of Madrid should be re-designated Iowa 210.

Iowa 210 begins at the Boone‑Dallas County line on the north corporation line of the City of Woodward and proceeds easterly via the City of Madrid to the Boone‑Story County line approximately one half mile north of the City of Sheldahl.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of Iowa 210 in Boone County in the primary road system.
