US 218 begins at the Benton‑Linn County line approximately 2 miles south and 1 mile east of Atkins and travels westerly, northerly, westerly, and northerly via the City of Vinton, Iowa to the Benton‑Black Hawk County line approximately 8 miles west and 8 miles north of the City of Vinton, Iowa.
